History/Overview: In 1978-1979 the government of Bangladesh plans to set up medical schools in Bogra, Comilla, Dinajpur, Faridpur, Kustia, Khulna, Noakhali Pabna and to improve health care in the country. Given this vision in the years 1980-1981 were medical schools started in Comilla, Khulna, Pabna and IPGMR (Dhaka). Then exit the program and students were transferred to the existing established eight medical schools. In 1991-92 the government felt the need for more medical schools to medical education facilities and reported the tax burden on existing medical schools. Consequently, the government has five medical schools in Dinajpur, Bogra, Khulna, Faridpur and Comilla to submit with the annual intake of 50 students each.
